Mullumbimby Studio

Located on the outskirts of Mullumbimby, Studio Suvira functions as both a working studio and a gallery, where process and resolved form coexist. The space allows for direct engagement with the material intelligence of the work — from making through to presentation.

The gallery presents a rotating selection of recent works from the anagama wood kiln and on-site gas kiln. Sculptural vessels and functional forms are positioned with attention to scale, volume, and spatial clarity, allowing each work to be read as an object with presence rather than display.

Across the studio, ceramics, wood, and metal are explored as parallel material languages. The practice remains in a state of ongoing inquiry, with forms evolving through sustained engagement with process, fire, and time. Surfaces retain the record of this engagement — ash accretion, flashing, flux, and stratification registering the conditions of their making.

A sculpture garden extends the experience beyond the built space, situating larger works within landscape and light. Together, studio, gallery, and garden form a cohesive environment in which objects are encountered slowly, as both vessels and spatial propositions.

Studio Suvira operates as a working studio and gallery. Visits are welcomed by appointment, allowing time and space to engage with the work in a considered way.

Appointments offer the opportunity to view current sculptural and functional works, including recent kiln firings, and to experience the studio, gallery, and sculpture garden as a whole. Discussions around acquisition, commissions, or curatorial interest are welcomed where relevant.
